| What
hardware do I need for Tiny
Red Book?
Tiny
Red Book runs on handheld computers using
PalmOS. I tested the software using PalmOS version 3.1 and up. Memory management
of PalmOS system is very efficient. Therefore 2MB of memory should do.
Tiny Red Book
itself uses ~130kb. Each class adds approximately 15kb. Other companies
than Palm are using the PalmOS system, too (e.g.:
Handspring, Sony Clie, IBM workpad, Handera, etc.).

| Does
Tiny Red Book
run on Mac, Linux, ...?
Tiny
Red Book runs only on handheld computers
using PalmOS. Most data is stored in memos. These memos are backed up on
your computer while performing a HotSync. Some data (e.g. schedule) is
stored as a Palm database. These databases are also saved on your computer
by means of HotSync. If you have installed the Palm-Desktop software (or
campareables for other OS) your data will be savely appear on your
computer.

| How
do I create/copy student lists on my computer?
Classes and students are saved in memos (you see them in the standard memopad application of your handheld). Memos can be edited at your computer, too. The first line of text of a memo is also referred to as the name of the memo. Classnames are saved in a memo named "TRB_Classes". You can add a new class by entering the classname in a new line (press return t assure that the last line of the memo is a blank line). Student names are saved in a memo with prefix "TRB_" followed by the name of the class. Enter one student (Lastname, Firstname) per line. If you already have a list of your students at your computer, you can copy & paste them to the memo. The easiest way to do this is to let Tiny Red Book generate the memos and you fill them with student names at your computer. Therefore try this:
